"SaThI BaChPaN kE"..for healthy childhood at Primary Wing

Date: 27 Dec,2010

School Health Annual Report Programme (SHARP) organized an awareness programme in the school premises.

Teaching Children about Hygiene

Children need to be taught the importance of hygiene early on so that it becomes a habit.

Children are the most susceptible to hygiene-related disorders like skin issues, rashes, infections, wounds, etc.

Teach them early on about what to avoid. Teach them that taking a few precautionary measures to prevent infections and diseases is imperative.

Representatives from SHARP made wonderful efforts to teach children the importance of hygiene in an interesting and effective manner. The children were able to take few tips on how to maintain personal hygiene and even put up some queries.

The interactive nature of presentation allowed children to enhance the 2-way communication process.

Here are some tips you can give your kids:
  • Prevent them from eating roadside food. Such stalls are the main causes of stomach disorders and water-borne diseases.
  • Inform the children of the diseases or infections that could be caused by playing in the mud.
  • Make them wash up after they get back from play everyday.
  • Teach them to bathe properly and clean their entire body. Children have a tendency to take quick baths and such habits are difficult to lose once they grow up.
  • Insist that they use hand-wash regularly.
  • Make sure they regularly change their clothes.
  • Set examples by practicing hygiene yourself!

By these methods, you can ensure a healthier lifestyle for both you and your family. So go ahead and practice hygiene today!!!!

We hope to have more of such sessions in the school.
